H&K G3 Upgrades
We initiated the HK G3 Upgrade Project because we thought this weapon has the potential to remain in service and relevancy for years to come. With a few changes the precision is very good. The project goals were to give the user better ergonomics, a new forend, Picatinny rail on the top and prepare a standard interface for a new stock.
The HK G3 is one of the Western worlds most iconic battle rifles, renowned for its reliability and accuracy. Unfortunately most users feel that the G3 is old and has passed its prime. But with many thousand of G3s still in use around the world we wanted to see if we could adapt the G3 for today’s standards. We feel that we have succeeded and in many aspects the G3 with our modifications is as usable and serviceable as the AR10’s or HK417’s of today, but with a strong favor to the G3 as to reliability and price.

R-401 Modular Forend (NSN 1005-22-630-0397)
The R-401 G3 Forend is designed to closely match the original outline and weight of the HK plastic forend (190 grams / 6.7 oz). Constructed from high-grade aluminum, it features excellent ventilation to promote rapid barrel cooling.
The forend is equipped with Spuhr Interfaces along its length, enabling users to attach various accessories without adding unnecessary weight or creating sharp edges often associated with Picatinny handguards. This design ensures a lightweight, streamlined and user-friendly solution.
In addition to its ergonomic design, the R-401 provides a comfortable grip, allowing shooters to adopt a modern hold for better recoil management. For enhanced functionality, we also offer an optional NV rail for night vision capability.
R-402 Top Rail (NSN 1005-22-630-0398)
The R-402 G3 Top Rail enables users to mount optics on the G3 battle rifle, enhancing its versatility for modern applications. Designed with the same smooth contours as our G36 and HK417 forends, the rail ensures easy handling and superior repeatability.
R-410 Adjustable Stock (NSN 1005-22-630-0393, Short Buffer) (NSN 1005-22-630-0394, Heavy buffer)
The R-410 G3 Stock Assembly enhances the users ability to adopt an aggressive shooting stance, reducing felt recoil and improving control over the powerful G3 battle rifle. Its integrated cheek piece provides a comfortable head position when using optics, ensuring greater precision and ease of use. Additionally, the R-410 is compatible with HK55 carbines, further expanding its versatility.
This adjustable stock allows the length to be customized between 180-260 mm (7.09"-10.24") and enables the cheek piece and butt plate to be raised by approximately 24 mm (0.94”).
These adjustments ensure the Length of Pull (LOP 320-400 mm/12.59”-15.75”) can be tailored to the users clothing or physique, making the firearm more controllable and optimized for individual operators.
